Merge a Nuke Beginner Guide

A practical early-game route for new players — merge rules, Store priorities, and common mistakes to avoid.

Quick answer

Redeem codes → merge same-level pairs (2+2=4) → buy Spawn Speed then Spawn Tier → lock base before raiding.

New player route

First 30 Minutes

A simple beginner route to give your base a strong, fast start. Follow these steps in order before experimenting on your own.

  1. Step 1

    Redeem all active codes

Grab every working code first so you start with extra cash and nukes.

  2. Step 2

    Merge starter nukes

Combine your lowest bombs quickly to free up space and raise income.

  3. Step 3

    Spend on Store upgrades

Buy Spawn Speed, then Spawn Tier and Max Spawn — see the Upgrades guide for order.

  4. Step 4

    Keep your base organized

A tidy layout makes merging faster and prevents costly mistakes.

  5. Step 5

    Unlock stronger nukes

Push toward higher tiers once your income can support the jump.

  6. Step 6

Try raids only when income is stable

Raiding too early stalls your growth — build a steady base first.

  7. Step 7

Lock your base before going offline

Protect your progress so you return to a safe, productive base.

Core mechanic

How to Merge Nukes

Merging is the heart of Merge a Nuke. Drag identical tiers together, double the level each time, and climb toward stronger passive income and raid damage.

Same level only

You can only merge two nukes of the exact same tier — a 4 with a 4, an 8 with an 8, and so on.

Doubles each step

Two level-2 nukes become level 4. Two level-4s become level 8. The merge number doubles every time.

No mixing high and low

A high-tier nuke cannot merge with a lower-tier bomb. Drag duplicates together or leave them apart.

Clear board space first

A full base slows every decision. Merge the lowest duplicates first to open tiles for new spawns.

Step-by-step merge flow

  1. Step 1

    Spawn or buy bombs

New nukes appear on your island automatically after Store upgrades, or from code rewards.

  2. Step 2

    Find matching pairs

Look for two nukes with the same level number or identical appearance.

  3. Step 3

    Drag one onto the other

On PC, drag and drop. On mobile, tap and drag. They combine into the next tier up.

  4. Step 4

    Chain upward

Keep merging duplicates toward 16, 32, 64, and beyond. Higher tiers earn more cash per second.

  5. Step 5

    Lock if threatened

If another player is raiding, activate Lock Base before you lose your merge chain.

Common mistakes

  • Hoarding many low-tier bombs instead of merging them immediately.
  • Letting the board fill up so new spawns have nowhere to land.
  • Trying to combine different tier levels and wondering why nothing happens.
  • Merging without locking first while other players are actively raiding.

Faster spawns come from Store upgrades. See which nuke names to chase on the Tier List.
